AND THE HORIZONS ROSE IN RED AS IF THE WORLD WAS ON FIRE | HAPPY 2088!

1953: Tasos Leivaditis’ poetic work “It blows at the Crossroads of the World” is released. By the end of the next year the work is taken out of circulation amid a climate of anti-communist censorship in Greece. The poet was accused of betraying the nation because he criticized militarism, talked about the war victims and dreamt of a wind of change. A few months later the court acquits him. Perhaps because Justice was afraid of his prophecy; the dead in his verses suddenly rise from the ground to claim a new world of peace.

2088: All dead poets, lost artists, workers, victims of wars and power relations, the insulted and humiliated of thousands of years witness the phenomenon of the "Red Sun" that lifts them from the ground and brings them back to life. It’s Judgment time. They exterminate the Old Regime. A world of peace and poetic freedom is struggling to be born. We chronicle together with Leivaditis this future revolt in a visual environment where several gestures make way to let utopia blossom. The new world has a name: POEMOKRATIA 2088.
